At de Mornay Boyes we understand that commissioning bespoke furniture is an investment and all good designs need be focussed on your lifestyle and family. It needs to look fantastic, be practical and fit the budget.
We will listen carefully to your needs and come up with an initial design, and this can then be refined again and again, if needs be, until you are completely happy. All our drawings are done using AutoCad, which is an industry-standard architectural software package that allows alterations to be made quickly and easily. We will email the designs and costs to you.
We will provide working drawings for all the other professionals working on the project to make sure that the furniture we design for you fits beautifully into your home. We can work directly from architect’s plans that are emailed to us, as we use the same software, and this saves a lot of time in meetings.
Manufacture
All of your furniture will be manufactured at our workshops between Harpenden and Luton, and you are welcome to come and have a look at how it is coming along during the build – we are a friendly bunch!
We use Certified, Verified and Assured timber products in the production of your furniture.
Timber furniture will be lacquered before delivery and painted furniture will be supplied with 2 coats of primer ready for hand-painting on site once installation has been completed. Our hand-painted furniture is painted on site with 2 coats of acrylic eggshell.
Installation
We realise how important it is to have trustworthy people in your home; our furniture installation teams are fully employed by de Mornay Boyes and we will use only bone-fide registered subcontractors for other trades if we are project-managing the job. Our production manager is always on hand for site visits both before and during the installation of the furniture and there is no extra charge for this – we would rather the job ran smoothly!
If we are fitting a kitchen, the base units will be fitted first and then the worktops will be templated. The tops will then be made over the next 7-10 days while we carry on and fit the rest of the furniture. Once the worktops are fitted, we will be able to finish off the mouldings and panelling and finally fit the appliances and handles.
If you have chosen a painted finish for your furniture, the cupboards will be hand-painted on site in a colour or colours of your choice – you don’t even need to decide the colour until it has all been fitted!
Appliances
We supply most brands of kitchen appliances at competitive prices and these are all available either as part of a complete scheme or individually. We will deliver and fit them into your cabinets and/or worktops but we do not do the electrical or plumbing connections.
We also have business partners who can advise and install all forms of integrated home technology systems including audio, television and lighting.
On-Going Support
We fully support all furniture we manufacture and install and develop long term relationships with our clients, some of whom we are working with on their second or third properties.
When should you call us?
Most projects in existing homes require some kind of remedial work and sometimes we are asked our advice by builders before they apply for planning permission.
For this reason, the best time to call us is when you are at the planning stage. We advise that the earlier you contact us, the better – as soon as you have some idea of floor plans.
